On November 3, 1941, Glenn Miller and his Orchestra recorded what would become one of their biggest hits, the Jerry Gray original composition and arrangement of a swing instrumental titled听A String of Pearls.听By February 1942 the RCA Bluebird record听would top the Billboard Top 10 best-selling record charts. It was one of the most successful results of the historic collaboration between Glenn Miller and Jerry Gray that produced听more top 10 records during听the fastest time period of any musical team in history. A String of Pearls听has a very interesting history and many collaborators including jazz cornet legend Bobby Hackett. The story of A String of Pearls听includes Glenn Miller and his Orchestra, the Glenn Miller Army Air Forces Orchestra and many other artists.
