There are a few ways to develop leadership and professional skills within UEP as a Boettcher Scholar. First, there is both a social and a service committee. Students in the former plan events and activities, within a designated budget, for the scholars. Some activities will be in collaboration with Daniels and Norlin peers. Students may also help organize service activities for Boettcher Scholars (one activity is required by the Boettcher Foundation per semester). Watch for email invitations from current committee members at the start of the academic year. All activities must be coordinated with and approved by the UEP office.
Finally, Boettcher Scholars can develop leadership and professional skills asÌýUEP Office Assistants.ÌýOffice Assistants are student employees who perform tasks crucial to UEP’s functioning, including event planning, updating social media and communications, and more. They are hired, supervised and evaluated by the UEP Office Manager.ÌýTheyÌýgain office skills,Ìýlearn what it means to work in a higher education context, and workÌýin collaboration with the Office Manager and Director of UEP.
